Clean Keto Versus Dirty Keto

Clean Keto Versus Dirty Keto

Here are RescueFit, we do not promote crash or fad dieting but promote lifestyle changes, we also believe that having success with nutrition is widely correlated to your level of discipline. Another key factor to understand, is that there is no magic diet and success will come from making sure you burn more calories than you consume.

While getting my Master's In Exercise and Nutrition Science, a lot of research and talk was centered around Keto or Ketogenic dieting. Keto proved to have great benefits if used correctly. The standard Keto diet is broken up into 70% fats, 25% protein and 5% carbs. This is intended to be made up of nutrient dense foods and restricted sugar intake. Ketogenic diet is built around having your body reach ketosis by producing ketones, which allow you to burn more fat and use fat as it's primary energy source.

The misconception when it comes to Keto, is that your fat intake can come from red meat, bacon, cheese, diary products, and other foods that contribute to high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, and a series of cardiac illnesses. Another issue that arises with Keto, is it's longevity and ability to stay committed. This does not support RescueFits' health and wellness lifestyle.

Your fat intake should be coming from sources such as avocados, almonds, chia seeds, sunflower seed, flax seeds, nuts, oils, almond butter, peanut butter and from your lean proteins. This will allow for better hormonal functioning, body system regulations and health. We support Keto but believe it needs to be used in a healthy sustainable manner and should consult with a physician to see if Keto is for you.

Moreover, if you are not following a Keto diet your Fat intake according to "The Science of Nutrition" and National Strength and Conditioning Association should consist of 20-35 percent of total calories.
